DIY Candle-Making Tutorial

6:53 AM

Lately, I often see aromatherapy candles in a very cute and beautiful shape becoming a trend! whether it used to unwind or simply just put the candle on the table as a decoration. I was a little surprised when I saw the candle on several online shops that showed a fairly high price just for one item! Therefore, Instead of buying them, it would be such a good idea to make my own candles.

Actually, the material is very simple and not too difficult to make, although this time I messed up the candle, if I practice more I'm sure the result will be what I expected, well at least it looks good if I see them from afar.

So, here's the tutorial:

What you need:

  • Paraffin powder/palm wax
  • Candle wicks
  • Essential oil or aromatherapy liquid (unfortunately, I ran out of essential oil)
  • Crayon
  • Candle Mold
How to make:

  • Boil about 200 ml of water in a pan

  • In order to make the paraffin powder does not evaporate and burn quickly, it would be better if we don't immediately boil the paraffin powder over the first pan. Instead, it would be better if we use an additional pan

  • Put paraffin powder and chopped-up crayons into the pan

  • Mix and stir until the paraffin powder melts and changes its color

  • Insert the candle wick into the wax mold, make sure the bottom side of the wick longer than the top side, then secure the wick using a stick before pouring the paraffin liquid

  • Pour the melted paraffin powder into the mold and leave 1-2 cm in the mold empty for the second layer

  • After the first layer is dry, add the last layer

  • Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours until the mold solidifies

  • Once the wax becomes solid, then we can remove it from the mold!

Here's the final result!
